This is the latest report from Erik Reyes, our missionary in Bolivia...
"Dear friends and family.. we would like to start off with sending a big hug. As far as February goes, it was full and great. Carnival was depressing as usual, but the day it was over was like peace after a storm… Such an amazing feeling of peace. I know some of the team will talk of their experiences, so I won’t go into the Carnival experience.
El Camino is such a wonderful tool. I know we talk a lot about it, but it has proven to be very useful, and because we have it open from 9 in the morning till 9 at night we are able to reach people with all different kinds of schedules. Daily people come in to ask about and sign up for courses. We have a great new helper in El Camino. Carla Duran, a christian woman we have spoken of many times before in our reports, is helping us out in El Camino from 9 in the morning untill 6 at night. She is such a servant, and quick at seeing things that need to be done, receiving people when they come in and even leaving to make lines and pay bills for those of us on the team. Please thank God for her life and the help she is being for us.
As a team we are doing good. We grilled out the other day and spent some time together when Carnival was really bad. It was nice to be able to have a few hours together and just sit back and relax. We are hoping to plan a couple days for a team retreat and fell that it will be really beneficial for our unity, and to have a little breather. Ivan was gone almost the whole month of February, and has returned. He says he’ll be here in Sucre for a couple of months. Please pray for his life and his decisions.
We celebrated the baptism of Judith this month. She is a university girl that has come for over 8 months now to El Camino off and on. It was great news when she chose our Lord as her Savior.
Thank you for your letters, your concern, your love. We have felt spoiled by you and your friendship. Your words of encouragement have meant so much to us as individuals and as a team. God bless you."
