Sunday at Stafford
The Sunday morning we spent in Stafford began with a devotional at the Senior citizens home at 9:30. This is a weekly event that the Stafford congregation conducts for these people. This was an enjoyable and rewarding time together. When we were leaving the home to go to Bible Study, we spotted some snow flurries. Thankfully, they didn't last long. After an encouraging Bible Study conducted by Richard Foster( pulpit minister for the Stafford Church of Christ in Kansas)at the church buiding, I had the privilege of preaching for the congregation. Following the worship assembly, we ate a fellowship meal together( the Stafford congregation holds one each Sunday immediately following the morning assembly. Then they hold a p.m. worship together at 1:30). My family and I enjoyed the food and company. I actually had the opportunity to visit with a few of the teens from Stafford during this time. We talked about their school and the sports of track and football( If you know me very well, you could have guessed the topic of conversation I would be holding with the young people). During this time of fellowship I took photographs of the elders and their wives to be used in my presentation to Center St. After lunch, my family and I returned with Cheryl back to the house to change clothes, load our van, and head for home. We were sad to say goodbye to everyone, but this was overshadowed by the fact that we will be returning to Stafford in July to work with them...On a different note, I missed 2 calls from Gabriel Chea on Thursday. Gabriel is the World Bible School Coordinator for Monrovia, Liberia and a dear friend of mine. I always look forward to hearing from him, so I was sorry that I didn't have my cell phone with me either time that he called. Hopefully, he will email me in the very near future.
